What:  Santa’s Spectacular Grotto and Magical Ice Rink

Where:  Willows Farm Village, Hertfordshire

Price:   Adults £7.95, Children £14.95, Under 2’s £8.25. Your entrance price includes all shows, rides and attractions including Woolly Jumpers, Ice Skating (synthetic) and Festive Wood Ride.


What:  Celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas at Holker Hall.

What:  The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at Arlington Court

Be enchanted this winter as C.S. Lewis's classic tale is recreated around the gardens, house and carriage museum at Arlington. Go through the wardrobe, vanquish the White Witch, find Aslan and finally be crowned a king or queen of Narnia.

What:  Secret Santa’s grotto

Meet Santa in his magical forest grotto and set off on a secret trail Santa has laid out for everyone to enjoy.

What:  Father Christmas Weekends

Come and meet Father Christmas in his magical grotto. His elves have been working hard all year and he has lots of presents for good girls and boys

Where:  Tyntesfield, North Somerset

When:  3-4, 10-11, 17-18 December 10am – 4pm (tickets last issued at 3.15pm)


Price: Normal garden admission charges apply for adults, £4 per child to see Father Christmas.

Booking is not required for this event.


What:  The Snowman

The Snowman returns for a record-breaking 14th consecutive year. When a young boy's snowman comes to life on Christmas Eve, the two set off on a night-time quest for adventure. On their travels, they meet dancing penguins, reindeer and, of course, Father Christmas.

What:  BOING!

Set on Christmas Eve, BOING! captures the delirious excitement of waiting for Santa to arrive on the most magical night of the year.

What:  Beasts and Beauties

Adapted by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, Still recreates a grisly and gruesome, hilarious and hair-raisingly funny otherworld, carved from six dark and dangerous fairy tales from across Europe

Where:  Hamstead Theatre

When:  1st December to 7th January

What:  Breakfast with Santa

The Ultimate Santa, takes his seat for Christmas inviting his junior guests to a morning packed with games and carols and plenty of fun-filled mischief with his team of elves. Little ones will also leave with a surprise Christmas gift.

What:  The Enormous Turnip

In a tiny house the size of a shed, Mr and Mrs Chickweed live on their allotment surrounded by vegetables aplenty. But they can’t resist planting one more seed and as their turnip grows it threatens their house with disaster! Can anyone help pull up their Enormous Turnip?

What:  Family Christmas Market

The day starts at 10am and goes on until the Leicester vs Northampton match starts! Following on from the success of last year’s Christmas Market, the Leicester Tigers want to ensure that this year the market is bigger and better for all families attending!

It’ll be perfect for anyone based in the East Midlands- especially Tigers fans because the Leicester Tigers Vs Northampton Saints game starts at 2.15pm (plenty of pre-match shopping time!).

There’s a whole host of exciting events to look forward to at the National Coal Mining Museum for England (NCMME) over the festive period, including the chance to visit Santa in his magical grotto 140m under the ground!
