Warner Bros DVD Review: Big Top Scooby Doo and Tom & Jerry Trick or Treats

Half term was a tough one for us, both BG and I where ill. Warner Brothers send us a Halloween inspired box of treats including Big Top Scooby Doo and Tom & Jerry Trick or Treats DVD’s which was a life line. We had watch our other Tom & Jerry DVD about 6 times already I was starting to go a bit bonkers.

This DVD is now on constant loop in our house! A mix of old and newer episodes of Tom & Jerry they have a spookish theme to them. There are 22 episodes on this DVD and gets the big thumbs up from BG.

At £5.99 it’s a real bargain and guarantees some peace and quiet while it’s on.  

Big Top Scooby Doo

Those pesky kids have found another mystery to solve.

When Scooby and the gang hear of a werewolf plaguing a traveling circus, they go undercover as circus performers to get to the bottom of the mystery. Things soon go from bad to worse when the number of werewolves starts increasing, and the members of Mystery Inc. realize they might be in danger of turning into these monstrous beasts themselves

We both really enjoyed this film; it’s a good Scooby Doo mystery with a few red herons and a good twist at the end.  A good family film whatever time of the year.

Warner Brothers DVD Review: Scooby- Doo Spooky Games

Ever since Warner Brothers sent us our first Scooby-Doo DVD to watch BG is obsessed with the show, we watch it daily on Boomerang and I have bought extra DVD’s for us to watch at home.

Warner Brothers sent us the latest release Scooby-Doo Spooky Games and BG was overjoyed.

The first episode is Spook Games which is like the regular series and Mystery Inc well have a mystery to solve the World Invitational Games. BG really enjoyed this one.

The other 4 episodes are classic All-Staff Laff-A-Lympics with Yogi Bear, the Flintstones and other old favourite characters. BG wasn’t as impressed with these ones in her own words “I don’t want the other people in it”. I have raised a Scooby-Doo purist!

I loved the old classic episodes but then I’m becoming classic myself.

Warner Brother DVD Reviews – Easter Bundle

Warner Brothers sent us a selection of films to watch over the Easter break along with some yummy mini eggs.

This is what we watched:

Bugs Bunny’s Easter Funnies £3.20

The Easter Bunny is ill and needs someone to take over. Granny tries to get Bugs Bunny but he is too busy filming.  This feature length cartoon is full of your favourite clips from Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and tweety.

It is very funny and well worth the money.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory £2.79

This is one of my favourite movies I know all the songs and was excited to introduce it to BG. At 3 years old she just wasn’t interested in it so I will save it to she is a bit older. I can watch this over and over again; it’s a great family movie.

Gene Wilder is brilliant as Willy Wonka.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory £2.79

I really want to like this film but it doesn’t have enough singing for me! If Willy Wonka hadn’t been made first I think I would really like this but I really hate remakes.

 I 

understand that this is a truer to the original story and of course its directed by Tim Burton so it was always going to be dark.

BG found the front cover a bit scary and hid it so we couldn’t watch it!

Yogi Bear £4.99

This is an enjoyable family movie as like most the plot is a little weak but doesn’t stop it from being good.  Yogi Bear and Ranger Smith work together to save Jellystone Park. I loved Yogi Bear as a child and would prefer it be a cartoon but I’m getting old and grumpy.

A nice Sunday afternoon film.

Warner Brother Film Review – Happy Feet 2

Warner Brothers sent us a lovely penguin package with Happy Feet 1 & 2 and March of the Penguins on DVD. We also have a lovely Happy Feet Snow Globe.

Happy Feet 2 was release on 26^th March and is available from Amazon for £9.

If you like Happy Feet then you will love Happy Feet 2, actually I think I prefer the sequel.

In this film Mumble our hero from the first film has a problem with his son Erik who doesn’t want to dance. Erik tries to run away and Mumbles follows him and they meet Sven a flying Penguin.  The world is then shaken by powerful forces and Mumble and Erik have to save the day.

Happy Feet 2 is full of great dance routines and songs and you can’t help tapping along with them.

I have to say I liked it more than BG who got bored half way through but she is only 3 and her attention span is short.

My favourite parts are with the two krill voiced by Brad Pitt and Matt Damon their scenes are hilarious!

Overall a big thumbs up from us. A great family movie ideal for the Easter Break.
