Help Donate Books by Reading Tinga Tinga Stories to Your Children Online

Want to help donate 20, 000 new books to a Teacher Training Programme in Kenya and Tanzania? Well here is how you can....

Simply go to www.wegivebooks.com/africa to read a Tinga Tinga Tales story online with your child, or those in your care, and every time you read a story, one book will be donated to this programme. As many as 90 African children could benefit from the donation of just ONE book, so just think what 20,000 could do.

Launched in April by the Penguin Group and the Pearson Foundation, We Give Books is a new digital initiative that enables anyone with access to the Internet to put books in the hands of children who don't have them, simply by reading online.

Tinga Tinga Tales is based on traditional animal folktales that have been passed from generation to generation all over Africa. The colourful look of the Tales has been inspired by the striking Tingatinga art of Tanzania, and lovingly hand painted by Tingatinga artists

Comedian Lenny Henry, who provides the voice of Elephant and Buffalo in the Tinga Tinga Tales TV series, says: “Traditional African animal creation stories have been captivating children in Africa for hundreds and hundreds of years as they have been passed down through the generations.  It’s brilliant that children in the UK and across the globe will now get a chance to enjoy these colourful stories.”

What a great cause, not only do you get to read a great book to your child but you will be donating a book to this great program, so what are you waiting for?
