Plum Baby Review and Give-away

As most people know by now I’m far from the perfect parent, not matter how hard I try it doesn’t always work out. When I first started weaning BG I made all her purees and she ate well, happy to try new foods. As she got old she got really fussy and at times would refuse to eat my homemade food, at these times I was truly grateful I had some back up food in the house for her. One of my back up foods for her were Plum Baby pouches and tubs, she would wolf them down (obviously my cooking is pants!)

The reason I choose Plum Baby foods was that I liked that there were no ‘nasties’ in them, they only use Organic ingredients and the meals are packed full of  superfoods , along with wholesome grains such as quinoa and spelt. I found the pouches really handy to take out with us, if we didn’t know where we were going to eat; a lot of restaurants won’t heat up home-made meals. BG favourite was Spinach, Parsnip and Basil, we mixed it with everything, I quite often used it as pasta sauce, and funnily enough Plum Baby now makes a Spinach and Basil pesto sauce!

Plum Baby sent BG some new foods to try, this were-

Oat Rounds with Orange Oil and Ginger
BG loves these, they smell gorgeous, even OH stole one. They are sweetened with Spelt syrup so there is no added sugar in them. I like that the biscuits are wrapped in bags of two, so you can pop in your bag to take out for a snack or use them to bribe a screaming toddler like I do! They are suitable from 12 months and come in a box of 5 x twin packs RRP £2.15

Milky Moons with Chamomile & Vanilla
These biscuits are made with spelt and contain chamomile which has calming properties. BG likes these biscuits, not as much as the Oat Rounds but she wouldn’t say no to them, they smell lovely and taste really nice. What I like it that there are loads of biscuits in the box; I would say at least 25 which for £2.15 is not that bad for baby biscuits.  I would rather BG have these than other non-homemade biscuits. These are suitable from 12 months plus.

Giant Couscous with Chicken, Squash & Red Pepper

I wasn’t quite sure how BG would be with this as I haven’t given her food from a pot for quite a while now; she tends to have food she can pick up with her fingers. However I should have known it be a winner as it contains Chicken which is her favourite meat, she really enjoyed the pot, though at 17 months old it wasn’t enough to fill her up. Suitable from 12 month RRP £2.39

Sweet Cape Curry with Beef & Green Lentils

BG hadn’t had curry before trying this; she wasn’t sure to start with but ate it all. I did some extra rice for her as again it wasn’t enough for her; she has a rather large appetite.  Suitable from 12 months RRP £2.39
