Is Marco Pierre White a Turkey?
Have you seen the new Bernard Matthew’s advert with Marco Pierre White and Martin Kemp? It’s quite amusing and a real change from the old adverts. Though if I was Mrs Kemp I might give Marco a clip round the ear!
Marco Pierre White has teamed up with Bernard Matthews Farms to help promote Change Your Meat not Your Menu. Marco has some great recipes using turkey to share, including a lovely dish of Turkey Steaks with Sage and Onion Stuffing.
The campaign is all about healthy eating and turkey is a great meat to cook with. Its low is saturated fat and can be used in loads of ways. It can be swapped with beef and chicken in many of the nation’s favourite dishes - from Tikka Masala to Spaghetti Bolognese, and of course, our Great British Sunday Roast.
I’m a fan of using turkey, I bought it a lot when I was a student as it was cheaper than chicken. We use it quite regularly is cottage pie, fajitas and stir fries.
I know some people find turkey dry but I don’t. The trick to roasting a turkey is not to overcook it, baste it often and leave to rest for at least 30 mins before carving it.
Look at this turkey joint being cooked! Yummy
Marco Pierre White has also launched his own range of Bernard Matthews ready to cook Turkey meals which include Parmesan and Rosemary Crust Steaks and Turkey Breast Joint with Sage and Onion Stuffing. I’m looking forward to trying them out!
