Product: Closer to Nature Steri-fluid
Price: £2.99
Available from: Some supermarkets
Suitable from: Birth
Initial Reaction: With my son I used a sterilizing fluid but the smell put him off the bottle, so I was intrigued to see how this worked with my daughter.
Pros:
- Long lasting formulation means you can leave the contents in the solution for up to 24 hours and they will remain sterile until required, which is great for night feeds as everything is there and ready.
- Proven to kill MRSA, E.coil, Listeria, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Staphylococcus and Candida albicans (which can cause thrush).
- This is alcohol and bleach free and leaves no taint/smell which was the problem we had when using with my son, it seems to have had no effect when used with my daughter.
- Suitable for cold water sterilisation of bottles, teats, soothers, teethers, small toys and weaning equipment.
- You only need a little of the steri-fluid (2 capfuls for every 3 litres of water) so it works out to be a very economical solution for sterilising.
Cons:
- None
Value for money? Yes, you only need a bit of the steri-fluid each time you use so the bottle lasts for ages.
Overall Reaction: The solution remains active for 24 hours which is great for things like soothers, teethers, toys and weaning equipment as they don’t always get used straight away. It leaves no smell or taint which is always a concern especially if you usually use other methods of sterilsation.

Oh this was really interesting. I have been worrying about sterlising if I am bottle feeding the new baby when I stay in a hotel for CyberMummy but this will be perfect.
ReplyDeleteIt's good stuff. I reviewed it too and totally agree about the smell!
