Sometimes lovely unexpected gifts come through the post.
For Mother's Day the lovely people at McVities sent me this Jaffa Cake bouquet.
Brilliant isn't it? Even better is that OH realised that night that the 'soil' was in fact chocolate. Chocolate orange rice pops to be exact.
It was very nice, a big thank you to McVities who sent it.
This week we also received a box of goodies from Nick Jr. Yummy Green & Blacks chocolate for mummy ;) (How did they know it was my favourite) and a preview DVD of some new shows.
BG was every excited about the Dora Easter Adventure which is being shown tonight at 4.30pm on Nick Jr. If your children are a fan of Dora then they won't be disapointed.
There was also a new Easter episode of Team Umi Zoomi which we are saving, this is being shown in April.
The first thing we watched was Tickety Toc which starts on the 23rd April and she loved, we will give you a proper review soon! BG has taken the DVD to hers nana's so she can show her them.
So a big thank you to Nick Jr.

Dinosaur Train on Nick Jr
On Monday a new show started on Nick Jr called Dinosaur Train and BG is
already a big fan. It’s been advertised for weeks and all I kept hearing was “is
it on now mummy” so I was very happy when I was offered a chance to preview the
show.
The show stars Buddy, a curious, funny and intelligent
T-Rex, in a family of Pteranodons, who is cautious, but always ready to jump
into action and start asking questions about the world around him.
In each episode they take a trip on the Dinosaur to
learn about other dinosaurs and Buddy tries to find what type of Dinosaur he
is. Each show has 2 episodes.
BG really likes this show, it’s bright and fun. It has
a far too catchy them tune and is educational. If you are bored with your child’s current
choice of TV programmes give this one a go.
It’s on 4pm everyday on Nick Jr.

BG Meets The Bopps
Recently BG and I were invited to visit the Nick Jr studios to meet The Bopps and see some filming. If you haven’t heard of the Bopps they are
Stan Bopp (he used to be in the Housemartins!) and Keith Bopp (TV Producer).
Their tv show which shown in the morning on Nick Jr is a mixture of slapstick
and funny songs and BG thinks they are hilarious even at 7.30 in the morning.
We meet up with Liz, Pippa, Louise and their Children
and went to the studio. Now technically it was the MTV studio as Nick Jr is
being built but for me that was even better though I didn’t see any other
famous faces!
BG and I were the first to go through and meet the Bopps and
watch some filming. They were filming little videos for Wake Up World with Helena Downling who presents
it in the mornings on Nick Jr.
BG was absolutely fascinated watching them rehearse and them
filming it, she stayed silent throughout the recording. We then go to meet them
and they were all very lovely and friendly.
We also got to go in the galley and see behinds the scene
there.
The bits we saw filmed were part of the Christmas Schedule
and will be aired this Monday and I’m really looking forward to seeing what BG
makes of it all.
I want to say a huge thanks to Nick Jr and the Bopps for the
great day and lunch at the Rainforest Cafe .
Nick Jr paid for our
travel and gave us a goody bag.

Help Dora Help
BG is a huge fan of Dora the Nick JR, actually so I am. BG can now count to 10 in Spanish!
If you haven't seen it Dora solves problems with the help of her friends Boots the Monkey and Backpack. She is bilingual and teaches children basic Spanish.
Nick Jr with the support of The Princes Foundation for Children and the Arts has just launched the Help Dora Help Campaign. Pre Schools and Nursery's can register for a free activity pack.
The free activity pack, developed by Nick Jr. education experts, follows the Early Years Foundation Stage development goals and provides stimulating learning opportunities with the theme of Dora the Explorer’s adventures. It contains six activity session plans, a practitioner’s guide and other teaching aides to encourage pre-schoolers to use their imagination, solve problems and develop their sense of physical adventure.
They can also apply for a £20,000 Dora Award Fund.
The award fund allows pre-schools and nurseries to apply for a grant of up to £20,000 for educational and learning purposes. Runners up will be awarded discovery and learning equipment packages and Dora the Explorer will visit a selection of the successful nurseries. There will also be the opportunity for the nurseries to be featured on Nick Jr.
Nurseries and Pre-Schools have until 22nd July to apply so let yours know now!
